Toys R Us is making a comeback! Business Insider reports that Toys R Us stores will open in two high end malls, just in time for the 2019 holiday shopping rush. Tru Kids, a company created in February that controls the Toys R Us and Babies R Us, will open the new Toys R Us locations in The Galleria in Houston, Texas and in Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. But the retail locations will look different than Toys R Us sites of the past. They will be smaller (about 6500 square feet), with a "playground-like environment." They will also function differently from a business perspective. Business Insider explains that all toy sales will go directly to manufacturers. Tru Kids will actually get paid from manufacturers who will pay a fee to sell goods in Toys R Us. Phillip Raub, cofounder and president of B8ta, who is in business with Tru Kids says that their business model is more of a subscription based, placement within the stores, "being able to provide rich data analytics for makers."
